Hello.  My name is John W. Greenemeier.  I am 25 years old and one of my great passions is running.  A friend of mine, who is a personal trainer and marathon runner himself, got me hooked on running a few years ago.  Running isn't just a great cardiovascular workout.  To me running is a way  to escape from any situation and reap that solace and soothing peace of mind we all need in life.  Since I was a young child I was always interested in running  but never really acted on it.  A few years ago I was really wondering what it would take to run a marathon and how far my body could be pushed physically.  I did not know, but my competitive side along with my friend's support gave me the confidence, willpower and dedication to train for it.  I trained for about a year before entering my first competitive marathon last year (the 2008 Philadelphia Marathon).  To date I have competed in numerous events around the area including 4 full marathons and have improved my time to an elite competition level!  I have so much respect for all athletes around the world and I know how much dedication it takes to succeed.  So many great athletes make differences in the world we live in today and I wanted to make a difference myself by starting GreenMiles.  In whole, running is just something I love to do and words cannot explain how much it means to me.

Besides running, my other hobbies are flying and skydiving.  After graduating high school in 2002 from North Warren Regional I followed my dream of becoming a pilot and attended college at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona where I obtained my pilots license and majored in Aeronautical Science.  This winter I am going back to school and I will be working on gaining acceptance to medical school as I would like to be a cardiologist.

I would love to hear from you about anything you would like to talk about.  I am a very driven, kind and passionate person and I love to see people happy and succeed at whatever they do.  There is nothing better than hearing other peoples' stories of success and accomplishment.  Please do not hesitate to contact me about anything by visiting my Contact Us page.  Thank you personally for all of your support and I look forward to hearing from you!  PS, remember--Kick Asphalt!!!
