If you did not know that heart disease was the number one killer, now you
do. Not only is it greatly on the rise, but it kills more Americans than cancer and car accidents combined. Can
you imagine how healthy our country would be without heart disease? Do you know how many more lives would be saved?
It is not going to take a whole lot of work, just a little bit of dedication and knowledge. The main cause of
heart disease is obesity. The Food & Drug Administration have said obesity has never been at an all time
high in this country. Presently, 55% of Americans are overweight and if something isn't done soon the percentage will
rise to 90% by the year 2050. Isn't this crazy?
If you look at our society today, Americans are the number one consumer of fast food. Lets
face the truth here...we live in a fast paced lifestyle and it is just simply easier to grab a quick bite to eat on our way
to work or before the start of our day. Being unaware of statistical facts is a huge part of negligence, and negligence
is what leads to an unhealthy lifestyle regarding what we consume and how we exercise. Eating a balanced diet of heart
healthy foods and getting the right amount of exercise is key to a healthy existence.

In this section of our site, I wanted to give a little bit of basic information,
statistics and inntuitive knowledge to educate Americans on Heart Disease and the surrounding aspects relating
to it. If you would like to know anything at all about heart diesase please
to navigate to the American Heart Association's complete brochure about the heart in detail.
